Top ten most popular FAQs
Where will my backup data be physically located?
Your data is stored on servers in the USA. Clients requiring backup to an offshore-jurisdiction can choose to backup to our data centre in the British Virgin Islands
How do I access my backup data?
Very easily! The neovault web-based console is intuitive and simple to use. It allows you to select every file and folder you wish to backup, and also recover anything you require.
Is it Proven?
You bet. When Hurricane Irma hit the British Virgin Islands in 2017, the country was devastated. Most businesses lost their entire IT infrastructure. Those that were backed up with neovault were able to reinstate their systems within a matter of days. Those without were less fortunate… neovault is a proven disaster recovery solution.
How secure is my data?
Incredibly secure. Not only is your data secured when it’s being transferred, it is stored in an encrypted state on our backup systems. If you prefer, even CCS cannot access your data. Your data is stored in a fully encrypted state in a RAID storage array (the data is on multiple drives)
Do I have to backup everything?
No, with neovault’s flexibility You can backup as little or as much data as you like, as often as you like
Is it difficult to setup?
No, it’s really simple! We install a small software program on the system to be backed up. This is configured to send a copy of your data, via encrypted connection, to our backup servers in a secure data centre facility over your internet connection. You have complete control over which files to backup, and how often.
I’m sure you guys are trustworthy, but I need to be certain of data privacy.
No problem. It isn’t necessary for us to have access to your data. You have an encryption key which ensures only you can access your data
(So don’t lose the key!)
I have a slow internet connection, so I guess I can’t have cloud backup right?
Wrong! For clients with slow internet connections we ‘seed’ the initial backup. Thereafter the backups are incremental, so you needn’t worry about your bandwidth being taken up. This has been tried and tested time-and-again on really slow connections. It works.
Do you upgrade the hardware where my data sits?
Regularly. A significant investment in new equipment and systems has brought significant improvements to what was already a world-class system. These included:
- Next-generation server from Dell
- Tripled hardware redundancy in the server
- Increased available storage by 50%
- Increased future storage capacity by 300%
- Increased network bandwidth and stability
